5 Tips on How to Drink More Water

Drinking water is important to your health.  Water keeps you hydrated and energizes your muscles.  It is recommended that women should drink about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of water a day.  Break that down to around 4-8 sips an hour.  Here are some helpful tips to help you drink more water daily.

1. Make It Part Of Your Routine

Having a routine is a great way to get in the habit of drinking water.  Here are some suggestions.  When you wake up, drink a glass.  Right after you shower, drink a glass.  At noon, drink a glass of water.  This is an easy way to get 3 glasses of water added to your routine.

2. Get a Reusable Water Bottle

The more you like your water bottle, the more likely you will be willing to use it.  Decorate it with inspirational stickers or get one that is your favorite color.  You will be less likely to forget it and possibly look forward to using it.

3. Set A Reminder On Your Phone

Create an alarm to remember to drink a glass of water.  This will not only help keep you hydrated but can also deter you from snacking.  Many times when we think we are hungry, it is really that we are thirsty.

4. Make Your Water Interesting

Add fruit or cucumber to your water.  Freeze lemon slices in ice cubes to add to your boring water.

  1. A reusable water bottle with measurements on it really helped me. I was drinking pitifully low amounts of water, and seeing the measurements really made me aware of that! So I made it a point to drink LOTS more 🙂 (I guess I’m competitive with myself haha)
